Held in a medical school, this powerful educational resource brings the best of medical education to the movement world, including Gross Anatomy labs and physician-led lectures on injuries. Gain hands-on experience with cadaver prosections – see the spinal cord, touch the inside of a shoulder joint, feel a knee replacement, understand the pelvic floor – and get your questions answered by distinguished anatomists and physicians. The FAMI Workshop is designed to help you master the human body so you can better help your clients. Created in 2006, the FAMI Workshop was designed to fill a void in the educational resources available to fitness and movement professionals.Whether you’re a yoga or pilates instructor, a personal trainer or physical therapist, a dance teacher or GYROTONIC® master, knowledge of anatomy and injuries is integral to what you do. Unfortunately, it can be hard to find resources that give you the depth of information you desire; some books barely skim the surface while others delve too deep, and most miniature models of anatomy just can’t do the human form justice. You work with real human bodies, you should learn from real human bodies. So we – a team of anatomists, physicians and fitness educators – created an anatomy and injuries course that’s comprehensive and practical, involving hands-on learning with client-based application. Ultimately, the FAMI Workshop aims to bridge the gap between movement and medicine, fulfilling the clinical education needs of fitness professionals. We heartily invite you to join the mission. |
