adam-gauzza-headshot_kinectedWe are excited to welcome Adam Gauzza to the kinected crew. Read on to get to know him better and catch a class with him @ 6pm Thursdays, and book a session with him on Thursdays and Fridays.

Q: Preferred Prop?
A: My favorite prop is the physioball. It’s equally great for giving proprioception and feedback during pre-Pilates exercises, massively challenging stability, and creating larger dynamic movement experiences. It’s so much fun to balance, roll, and dive over the physioball!

Q: Fave muscle?
A: Gluteus Medius (aka glute med). Hip/leg abduction is essential for balance. Glute med comes to the rescue! Give me some side lying on the mat, some side splits on the reformer, some side passé in the leg springs. Nothing makes me feel more ready to take on the world like a strong glute med.

Fun Fact: I love to bake. I started baking with my grandmother as a kid because my sweet tooth is out of control!

Adam Gauzza came to Pilates as a professional contemporary dancer.  After seeing improvements in strength, alignment, flexibility, and body awareness, he was hooked.  Adam is completed his full certification through the Kane School at Kinected Pilates Studio in 2016.  In 2009, he graduated cum laude with a double major in dance and gender studies from Northwestern University and has performed professionally with a variety of companies in New York and Chicago including Grammy award-winning band Arcade Fire, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Carolyn Dorfman Dance, Company XIV, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus.  In addition to Pilates, his movement practices include ballet and modern dance, yoga, and Feldenkrais. Adam is thrilled to be part of Kinected’s residency program.
