Anna Vollmar

Anna Vollmar has been working as a professional dance teacher, choreographer, and Pilates instructor for 11 years in New York City. As a dancer, she has had the opportunity to perform and have her choreography on many stages in NYC, Dublin, and Monterrey, Mexico. Her other travels include teaching at professional studios and festivals at M.A.S. Studio, NEXUS and Florence Dance Center in Italy, and Studio Harmonic in Paris, France. She has taught at Broadway Dance Center, Peridance Capezio Center, and Gibney Dance Center in NYC and on faculty for the Pushing Progress educational programs.


Anna’s passion for body awareness and biomechanics led her to study at the Kane School of Core Integration where she is fully certified in mat and equipment Pilates, and is a Teacher Trainer for the school. Her training is specialized with information in anatomy, biomechanics, touch therapy, and experience with all populations of people in addition to dancers. She has worked with a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to: osteoporosis, scoliosis, arthritis, knee/hip replacements, abdominal surgeries, ligament and labral tears, pain disorders, pre/post-natal.


She has completed multiple continuing education courses including FAMI (Functional Anatomy of Movement and Injury) held at Mt. Sinai through the Icahn School of Medicine, where movement professionals get hands on experience with cadaver prosections in the gross anatomy lab. Other education includes Advanced Biomechanics for movement professionals, various touch modalities, FAMI 2 workshop for the spine, neck pain and mechanics, and extensive dance training.
