Next weekend’s kinectED offerings spotlight programming for the pregnant client both on and off the equipment. Join Deb Goodman, MSPT for Pilates Through Pregnancy (4/26-4/28) to learn non-traditional mat repertoire that supports musculoskeletal changes that occur during pregnancy. Deb is joined by Kinected director Matt McCulloch for Ask the Expert: Reformer Programming for the Pregnant Client (4/28) which explores reformer programming paying specific attention to modifications, contraindications and set-up. Find out what participants can expect to learn in each workshop below:
In Pilates through Pregnancy, participants will:
- explore the anatomy and physiology of pregnancy
- discuss the precautions and contraindications of working with this population
- learn about the musculoskeletal changes of pregnancy and how they impact posture and biomechanics
- gain a greater understanding of how pregnancy impacts the abdominal and pelvic floor muscles
- learn how to design a safe and effective exercise program for pregnant women by the end of the course
In Ask the Expert: Reformer Programming for the Pregnant Client, participants will:
- learn how to work safely with pregnant women on the reformer
- learn how to modify exercises to suit the needs of women during pregnancy
- understand the contraindications and precautions of working with pregnant women on the reformer
