Don’t miss our next kinectED course: Dynamic Exploration of the Anatomy of Breathing with Michelle Spinner! In this 1-day workshop, participants will:
- Gain a deeper understanding of the respiratory mechanism both technically and experientially
- Learn how to train the respiratory mechanism to function fully and effectively
- Learn how to relieve tension through the breath
- Explore how breath can be used to inspire a deeper, more successful exercise/movement experience
This course is also a pre-requisite for the Vocalates™ Workshop – a journey through a system of exercises designed to cultivate a healthy and expressive speaking and singing voice

As a GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® Master Trainer, Michelle is a teacher of teachers. She is a Master Trainer in the Jumping Stretching Board and the Archway (two pieces of GYROTONIC® specialized equipment) and is the official teacher of the GYROTONIC® Applications for Equestrians workshop. Always perfecting her craft, she studies regularly with Juliu Horvath, the inventor of the GYROTONIC® Expansion System. Michelle is also a graduate of the Kane School and a Pilates Method Alliance Gold Certified Pilates instructor. She was a long-time student of the late “first generation” Pilates Master teacher Kathleen Stanford Grant, and is certified in both pre-natal and post-partum Pilates and Equilates—a Pilates-based cross-training for equestrians developed by Betsy Steiner. Michelle studied Kinesthetic Anatomy and the Biomechanics of Motion with Irene Dowd, the Alexander Technique with the late Marjorie Barstow, taijiquan (tai chi chuan) with Dee Chao, Ben Lo, and Don Ahn, and began practicing Hatha Yoga in her teens. She currently studies Qi Gong and Ba Gua Zhang with Tom Bisio and regularly attends continuing education workshops, including those given by Tom Myers and Eric Franklin. Michelle is a graduate of the Theatre department at the University of Delaware and the acting program at the American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco.
