15 Feb FAMI – Level 2: The Anatomy of Aging
Join us this spring in the studio or online for FAMI – Level Two (FL2) – expanding on the popular special topics course: The Anatomy of Aging! Building on the content covered in our last FAMI Fridays, this FAMI Level-Two course offers movement professionals an in-depth exploration into clinical conditions affecting older client populations, as well as the rehab programming to address them.
- Review the changing anatomy of the aging human body with FAMI co-founder Jeffrey Laitman, PhD
Examine clinical aspects of aging with geriatrician Helen Fernandez, MD and geriatric psychiatrist Leila Laitman, PhD - Explore biomechanics of the aging body with Jinny McGivern, PT, DPT, CFMT + Kinected co-founder Matt McCulloch
- Learn postural and movement assessments, rehab principles, and contraindications
- Master modified exercise progressions to safely and effectively work with older client populations (exercises are multi-modal with a focus on Pilates mat work, small props, and equipment choreography)
Dates: Sat + Sun, 4/30-5/1: 9am-3pm EST
