Focusing on the knee in our mods this month! Fun facts: the screw-home mechanism occurs between the tibia and femur + helps lock your knees into full extension to keep you stable while standing. The popliteus, commonly referred to as “the key that unlocks the knee,” reverses these mechanics as you bend your knees! (Netters Moving AnatoME, pg. 143).
